Mildred Louise Varton, age 85, of Sumpter Township, Michigan passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. She was born March 9, 1928 in Puncheon, KY, daughter of the late Jeff & Fairybelle (Meade) Mullins.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edward, a daughter Sally Randall, two sons; Donald Chance, James Chance, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her sister Bobbie Mullins, and her brother Richard Mullins.
She is preceded in death by four sisters; Magalene Johnson, Shirley Taylor, Gladys Capplle, Geraldine Susack, two brothers; Clifford Mullins, and Clarence Mullins.
Mildred lived in Sumpter Township for 42 years. She enjoyed making ceramics, hiking, playing Pac-man, and gardening. Most of all she loved fishing with her family on Lake Erie. Some say her cast was better than Papa's.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2013, 4-8 P.M. and Friday, March 29, 2013 10-11 A.M. with an 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service at the David C. Brown Temporary Viewing Chapel, 500 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, MI 48111. Pastor Gordon Moore with officiate. Burial will follow at the Union-Udell Cemetery.
